General Management: Running Two Manufacturing Companies
A $70 million specialty refrigeration business unit of a large multinational company had financial and product reliability challenges that required new thinking. Developing a Total Quality Management strategic plan, critical success factors (CSF’s) were identified. An initial focus was internal, reducing costs by improving product flow, shortening cycle times, increasing productivity, improving final quality and reducing inventories.
The dramatic results achieved in less than 9 months allowed focus to those CSF’s that were customer driven…product development and functionality, reliability/durability and customer service.
